smoked salmon is one of my all time favorite indulgences. so when i saw a recipe for a smoked salmon quiche in a new book from chef michael smith, i knew i had to buy it/make it/eat it.

i am so glad i did....it did not disappoint.

it has a puff pastry crust (easy!!), an egg with sour cream base, and it is laced with ribbons of smoked salmon. topped off with gruyere cheese and lots of fresh dill.

we ate it for a late dinner, but i think i will save this one for a christmas or new years day brunch.
